I had sat and in my mind designed a whole new wardrobe of clothes. These were not illustrative of the norm. They were much more a dramatic deviation from the norm than anything in my entire repertoire could be. I would wear netted hats and these, be decorated with pearls and feathers. My suits of cashmere, silk and velvet would ooze with a flamboyance and detail of a bygone era. I would have everything tailored to enhance my body’s voluptuelle and gait. I had the money to acquire anything and everything. There just needed to be time spent in considering the impact intended, the design detail, and embellishments, that sort of thing. There were milliner’s shops in the City of York and bespoke tailors and dress-makers too who would accommodate my many requirements perfectly. Not to forget the unusual items I could order from my cherished friends.ย
After a few moments, I began thinking very powerfully about other things, most notably how women, just as I used to be before my transfiguration, come to grief. This, the most somber of all truths was to loom shadow-like over everything.
